Since reopening after the lockdown, we are open on a Monday for lunch (previously we had closed Monday lunchtime) and we have extended our kitchen hours.

We currently have our gazebo area outside and we shall be changing this again for the autumn.

It has certainly been good to get back to it and we hope to see you soon!

More about us...

The Stone Jug is a 16th century building, which became a public house in the early 1900's.  It's name may have something to do with the local quarry stone which the building is mostly constructed from.  It is a family run business and has been in the same family since 1981.

A 'proper pub' that you could visit on your own and still have someone to have a chat with!

The pub is situated on the fringes of The Greensand Ridge Walk, so popular with ramblers and dog walkers and our four legged friends are welcome inside the pub.

The pub is nestled on a quiet rural lane and the benches along the front provide a perfect seat for those who like to watch the world pass by!  We also have a rear decking area which in the summer months catches all the afternoon and early evening sun - perfect for a relaxing sit down.

During the colder months you can sip a mulled wine and relax beside one of the many fires.

We like to provide a relaxed atmosphere and whether it's a quick drink after work, a lazy Sunday afternoon or, when we host entertainment, a more energetic evening, we want you to feel you belong here.
